Branding costs in Edinburgh depend on what your business needs, not simply how many logos a designer presents. A new business building its first identity has a different brief from an established company changing its positioning, packaging and website. The most useful starting point is a clear scope and an itemised proposal.
What are you paying for?
A branding project can include research, positioning, creative direction, a logo system, typography, colour, imagery and guidelines. Some projects also cover packaging, printed materials or a website. A logo-only commission is not equivalent to a complete brand system, so headline prices rarely tell the whole story.
Studio Uzi’s starting prices
At Studio Uzi, our Edinburgh-based studio, Brand System 001 starts from £3,100 for businesses establishing their identity. Brand System 002 starts from £5,500 for growing businesses that need a more complete identity system. Brand System 003 starts from £8,000 and brings strategy, identity and digital design together. These are our package starting prices, not an Edinburgh-wide market average.
Your final quote depends on the agreed deliverables and project requirements. Ask for written confirmation of what is included, how revisions work, the payment schedule and whether VAT or third-party costs apply. Packaging production, printing, photography, fonts, hosting and ongoing support should be discussed separately rather than assumed to be included.
What changes the budget?
The depth of research, number of products, complexity of the identity and range of applications all affect the work involved. A single-product launch is different from a range that needs a consistent packaging architecture across several sizes and flavours. Multiple decision-makers or a compressed deadline can also change the scope.
How to compare proposals fairly
Compare the process and deliverables alongside the price. Will you receive usable files and guidance for applying the identity? Who will manage the project? What happens if the brief changes? A lower quote may be appropriate for a smaller scope, but it is not automatically better value if essential applications are missing.
Start with the business need
List what must be ready for launch and what can follow later. Share your goals, timeline and available budget with the studio. A focused first phase can be more useful than stretching a limited budget across too many deliverables.
